Avenger

The Avenger features a stun blade and a groundbreaking seismic cannon. Representing a step forward in Cygnaran technology, the seismic cannon fires sophisticated projectiles that can unleash a localized earthquake upon impact.

Centurion

Caspian engineers developed the hulking Centurion to rival the size and strength of Khador’s warjacks. Its increased armor and heavy shield makes it one of Cygnar’s most durable designs, and its mighty piston spear can easily pierce the hulls of enemy warjacks.

[Parental Guidance: Explicit Lyrics LOL] More apologies - same dumb audio with windy nearby fan. 35PC of SR2012 Supply And Demand was played - Patrick Palma's Garryth, Blade of Retribution against Louie de Guzman's Major Markus "Siege" Brisbane.

[Parental Guidance: Explicit Lyrics LOL] Apologies in advance - parts of the audio was really messy (there was a fan nearby). We played 35PC of SR2012 Supply And Demand - Kim Navarro's Old Witch of Khador against Louie de Guzman's Major Markus "Siege" Brisbane.

Major Markus "Siege" Brisbane vs Vladimir, the Dark Prince of Umbrey

35PC SR2012 Outflank, Outfight, Outlast game between Louie de Guzman's Major Markus "Siege" Brisbane and Kim Navarro's Vladimir, the Dark Prince of Umbrey! [Parental Guidance: Explicit Lyrics LOL]

Post-game clarifications: Louie was right - he could have shot at the Gun Carriage regardless if it was behind woods or not.  I didn't bring my Wrath book, so we just ruled that the Battle Engine "can hide" behind woods safely in our game.

Privateer Press, it would have been nice if you included a Battle Engine Rule Summary card in addition to the stat card that comes with the box.

Questions, comments and criticism welcome.

Lightning Warfare: Storm Surge 35pts - Part 1

Louie de Guzman of Cygnarian Cat Lover wrote a comprehensive article about his most recent list of renown - Storm Surge

Today I plan to talk about a list that I enjoy using at 35pts. I've named it "Storm Surge", I got the name after I played it against several opponents and noticed that the list just moves forward regardless of the army type I'm facing. Much like a real life storm surge in where a wall of water just keeps moving forward regardless of what's in its path.

Commander Coleman Stryker vs Thagrosh, Messiah of Everblight

This is my very first attempt to record, edit and upload a video battle report for WARMACHINE/HORDES on my smartphone.  Lots of trial and error are evident, but hopefully I'll get a better hang at doing this and get some more battle reports in the future.

Stormwall and Lightning Pods

Perhaps Nemo’s greatest creation, the Stormwall towers over Cygnar’s enemies with all the majesty and menace of a looming cloudburst. From the thunder of its guns to the blinding cracks of arcing electricity from its lightning pods, the Stormwall is the mechanikal embodiment of the tempest. Powered by both steam and surging voltaic energy, it riddles the enemy lines with cannon shells and hails of bullets before smashing survivors with its electrified fists.

WRATH Warcasters

Constance Blaize is a resolute champion of Morrow who leads her Precursor Knights into battle against the unholy terrors that threaten all of mankind. Her greatest foes are the sprawling nightmare empire of Cryx and the vile servants of the dark god Thamar. Empowered by her faith, Blaize fights for her god and her nation with fervor inspired by the holy ascendants she reveres.

A fanatic assassin able to move between the bounds of life and death, Thyra, Flame of Sorrow is the peerless commander of the Daughters of the Flame. Her twin swords, Grief and Lament, weave a path of razor-edged destruction through the enemy ranks as she leads her sisters into battle. Thyra has become a living weapon of the Menite cause, her body and soul devoted to avenging the injustices carried out by those who oppose the Creator.

A specialist in the acquisition of lore from the dead, Lord Exhumator Scaverous is one of the most potent and intelligent servants of the Nightmare Empire. Souls are both ammunition and fuel for Scaverous. Those he slays and casts aside are fortunate compared to any possessed of special lore, whose skulls and souls he preserves for horrific necromantic interrogation.

Khador’s Iron Wolf has earned a reputation as a peerless master of heavy armor on the battlefield, a war hero beloved by his men and respected even by the enemies of the Motherland. He is famous for his ability to move large numbers of warjacks at an unprecedented pace to arrive where the enemy least expects him. Where Harkevich and his iron army stride, the enemy finds itself hounded, outmaneuvered, cornered, and eventually obliterated by overwhelming firepower.

The fundamental laws of reality twist and shatter beneath the will of Ossyan, Lord Arcanist of House Vyre. Time bends with but a gesture from him, and he can alter his perception to see the convergence of fate. Armed with perfect foresight he is a deadly combatant and battlefield general. Ossyan’s myrmidons and soldiers move with the assurance of destiny as he unleashes House Vyre’s sophisticated armaments upon the enemies of the Retribution.

Cygnar Storm Strider

David “DC” Carl, Development Manager
The Storm Strider represents the largest battlefield implementation of Stormsmith technology, so it's only natural that Cygnar's battle engine bears some resemblance in game play to the Stormsmith Storm Tower light artillery. The power of the lightning fields drawn to this towering storm's eye exceed those of smaller lightning staves or rods, and the nimbus of voltaic energy surrounding the tower focuses the electrical blasts of nearby Storm Knights on Cygnar's foes.

As with all the battle engines, the Storm Strider went through numerous changes throughout the development and playtest cycle, but the true constant was its ability to send powerful bolts of lightning arcing deep into enemy lines. Unlike artillery models, though, there are a number of good reasons to get the Storm Strider into the action. As noted above, it assists nearby Storm Knight blasts, but it also builds up an increasing static charge from enemy attacks. This causes a damaged Storm Strider to become more and more deadly as the battle progresses—this poor Winter Guard can certainly tell you all about that.
